The man walked through the high grass as he watched the lion creep up to the oblivious zebra. The tour guide had sweat on his forehead, but said not a word for if he did it would only seal the foolish tourist's fate. The man lifted his camera, slow as molasses. Aiming at the lion, his finger lifted to press the black shiny button that would be his downfall.
I had two choices, watch a man be mauled and killed by such a creature, as if he was nothing but a rag doll. Or I could risk my life to walk up to the man and bring him back to safety. I looked into my daughter's eyes. They were trembling, I couldn't let her experience such a nightmare. Nor could I let her experience it happening to me. I took a long breath in, and ran to the man's side.
The tour guide placed his hands on his sunburnt face in worry. But I doubt it was for me or the man, most likely his job. I had no time to think, only to act. I grabbed the man's shoulder, stopping him from making even the slightest noise from his camera. But he was ignorant to my "master plan". He grunted with discomfort and as a result of his stupidity, the lion's head turned. It's beady eyes seemed to stare into my soul, and I knew I was now "fast food".  Dead silence filled the open plains. The lion started its way towards the stranger and I. The mans eye's bulged.
"Daddy!!" My daughter yelled. I grabbed the man by his floral shirt and ran towards the tour bus. He only moved his feet to keep his balance, making me do all the work.    Damn it I'm not going to die because you, fat aft! I thought as I dragged his elephant size aft further through the amber honey grass. The lion was merely 30 feet away, and from all the nature shows I've watched, if that lion started running we might as well be 3 feet away.  The man muttered in fear, and I despised his will to have others die so he could eat more donuts. I finally reached my daughter, who greeted me with tear filled eyes and open arms.
"Start it!" I whispered. The tour guide wiped his forehead and ran to the wheel. The sound of the motor starting spooked the furry creature, and it ran off, it's mane flowing as it powerful paws rammed the ground. Seriously? The man's chubby chest heaved as my daughter's arms wrapped around me. "I thought the lion was gonna eat you!" She whimpered. "It's okay, I'm here now." I whispered. My heart returned to its average beats per minute, and I pondered on what had happened.
"Hey," the man turned to me after regaining his breath. "what were you thinking?!? I had the perfect shot!!" My jaw dropped. I wanted to slug him, but he wasn't worth it.
"Daddy! Wake up!!" I woke with a jolt as my daughter shook my shoulder. I saw the sun through the curtains, and realized it had all been a dream. I looked to my little girl's pink cheeks. Her hair rustled with bed head. "What is it?" I asked, rubbing my eyes. "Will you make pancakes?" She giggled. I laughed, rubbing the top of her ginger colored hair. "Yes, I will." Her pearly white smile lit up her little face as the patter of her feet ran off into the tiled kitchen. I smiled too, I sat up and looked at the picture of my love."We did a good job." I sighed. "I miss you, but I'll do what I can. For you and her." I rubbed the frame gently with my thumb, a tear in my eye. I miss you. my mind echoed. Walking out the door of my room, I peeped out to see my, our, little girl in the kitchen. T.v. turned to Spongebob, and a pan already on the stove-top.
Well, I had a focus test today. There was a figurative language story theme thing. It was about a restaurant, and it was the most beautiful story I have ever laid eyes on. I thought I was a good writer, but wow, this was just amazing. It inspired me to practice and improve. Feedback is awesome! :D

Now to actually talk about the story. I felt like a nice heartwarming story about a dad and his young daughter and a diseased mother. To be honest, I accidentally wrote, "Tall grass" and boom. I was writing a little story about a lion. I decided.....
IT WAS ALL A DREAM.
XD I hope you all liked it. I love little kids and I tried my best to capture a little girl's reaction and behavior. And a loving father who accepts that his wife is gone, and can only raise their daughter properly. *sigh* I feel all gushy and happy :D
